Harry Hosey and his wife Phyllis have been married since 1962 and have two daughters Jackie and Teresa, along with four grandchildren…..two boys and two girls. He has been retired from the US Postal Service since 1999. Harry began his work in the girls programs in the State of Oklahoma in 1971 and continued through his retirement in 2013. Harry has worked with various organizations in different roles and hosted numerous prestigious national events in the Tulsa, Broken Arrow areas of Oklahoma. Harry has also served on National Boards in multiple organizations and continues to be a sounding board in the IFA-VTD program to determine if new ideas would, in his opinion, help grow the sport of youth fastpitch softball.
When asked to sum up his career, Harry had this to say:
“I have enjoyed working with the kids of all ages through the years. In my 43 years of working with the kids in various programs, I have seen many changes and I was excited when the High School and Collegiate levels began to fully staff softball programs, as well as the Olympic program. The opportunity that these events afforded our girls has helped them continue their education, while at the same time grooming them to take over the leadership roles in our women’s program. Hopefully these young women will be able to teach future generations of young ladies from the perspective of someone who has already traveled those roads. I hope my guidance has helped pave the road for these future endeavors”.
IFA/VTD wishes Harry a long and prosperous retirement and wishes to thank Phyllis and his daughters for sharing Harry with all of us. Thank you Harry!!!
