Richard Tate and his wife, Elizabeth have been married since 1966 and have a daughter, Tasha. Richard worked and retired from Orange Corning Fiberglass after 23 years of service. Richard has been involved in fastpitch softball in various organizations since 1986 and has been instrumental in national events held in the North Texas Area. Richard has decided to retire from the day-to-day grind of everyday administrative duties that is required by the North Texas State Commissioner with IFA-VTD, however, continues to be a sounding board with the organization for innovative ideas of the future. Richard will continue to keep his fingers on the pulse of the youth with his fastpitch softball lessons and his continued support of events being hosted in the Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association.
When asked his thoughts reflecting his retirement, Richard stated: “I love the game of fastpitch softball and have enjoyed my association with the players through my years of service. Many of my former players have returned with children of their own and gives me great joy knowing that their parents are bringing their children to the same venues they once played. I take great joy in watching players develop that I have coached and taught through the years. I hope to continue as a role model for those children for many years to come, albeit at a much slower pace.”
IFA-VTD would like to thank Richard for his long and distinguished service. We hope to see Richard and Elizabeth at future events as they continue to support our youth.
Thank you Richard!!!
